
Succulent Squad: Summer Edition
A hands-on, nature-based experience for children ages 7 to 14, blending plant education with outdoor adventure. Hosted in the nurturing environment of the beautiful grounds of Hope Gardens*, this unique program introduces children to the beauty and wonder of succulents.
Children will get their hands delightfully dirty mixing up their own soil, planting succulents, and learning the magic of growing new plants through propagation.
Campers will also enjoy a guided tour of the Hope Gardens plant nursery, a visit to the Chinese Garden, and the fun of wandering through the whimsical Garden Maze.

GENERAL INFO
Q: When is camp held?
A: We offer six separate sessions:
- July 7–10 | 9 AM–12 PM
- July 7–10 | 1–4 PM
- July 14–17 | 9 AM–12 PM
- July 14–17 |1–4 PM
- July 21–24 | 9 AM–12 PM
- July 21–24 | 1–4 PM
Each session is a standalone experience—campers attend one session only.
Q: Is early drop-off or late pick-up available?
A: Sorry, we are not able to offer early drop-off or extended care at this time. Please plan to arrive and pick up during your selected session’s hours.
SUCCULENT PLANTING & CARE
Q: What do campers plant?
A: Each camper will learn to plant and care for 6 to 8 varieties of succulents—such as Echeverias, Haworthias, Sedums, and Crassulas.
Q: Can they take the plants home?
A: Absolutely! Each child will leave camp with the succulents they planted themselves—a perfect starter set for their very own collection.
Q: Will they know how to care for it?
A: Yes! Campers will learn about plant care, propagation, and general gardening, giving them the skills and confidence to keep growing long after camp ends.
Q: Are succulents safe?
A: Most succulents are non-toxic. We still recommend adult supervision at home, especially around pets.
GARDEN TOURS & ACTIVITIES
Q: What will campers explore?
A: Campers enjoy a guided tour of Hope Gardens Plant Nursery, a guided visit to the Chinese Garden, and a journey through the whimsical Garden Maze—all designed to inspire curiosity and a love for nature.
Q: How long is the garden tour?
A: About 45–60 minutes, with interactive stops and fun Q&A along the way.
SNACKS & SUPERVISION
Q: Are snacks provided?
A: No, snacks are not provided. Campers are encouraged to bring their own light. Please let us know about any allergies on the registration form.
Q: Is water available?
A: While we will have some water available on site, campers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Q: What’s the supervision like?
A: We maintain a 1:6 adult-to-camper ratio, with small groups of 10–20 kids per session to ensure personalized attention and safety.

Q: Will photos be taken?
A: Yes, during activities and tours for future promotions, newsletters, and social media.
Q: What if I don’t want my child photographed?
A: No problem! Just note your preference on the registration form, and we’ll fully respect it.
